- Your zipper is coming undone but there is no visible damage
- Your slider has gotten a lot of use and looks a bit flare
We all know that repairing things is really cool, but where does one start? With teamed up with Snowdonia Gear Repair to bring you a series of quick repairs you can do yourself. Keep reading for a step by step guide to fixing a zip slider.
Position needle nose pliers over one side of the slider, to the left or right of pull loop. Depending on the location of the zipper, you may need to do this through fabric. Be sure not to rip or cut the fabric in the process.
Squeeze very gently – if you are too aggressive with the squeeze you can crack the slider! Repeat on the other side of the pull loop.
Test the zip by zipping it up. Is it functioning properly? If so, great, you’ve done it!
If not, repeat the process adding a touch more pressure to the squeeze each time.
Pat yourself of the back. You’ve just fixed your zip slider!
